So, Raven’s Dad is defeated by Raven and the Teen Titans live happily ever after? Are we supposed to believe that?
No. Don’t think so.
Well, here’s how we have it. Raven was not Trigon’s [her dad] only offspring. Turned out he couldn’t keep it in his pants and he had 7 kids with 7 different women. So Raven had a bunch of half-siblings. Oh the joy. They all have the power to induce certain feelings within people around them; these feelings were the Seven Deadly Sins. Their father was destroyed and they sought to revive him. But their powers weren’t enough; they needed their witch half-sister. So they go to her and use their powers to corrupt her and then she uses her own powers to revive Trigon and unfreeze all those villains that had been frozen. It kind of made killing him seem like a wasted effort.
But Raven still felt for her friends and could not give her father all of his power back. So he promised her that once they were gone, she would be the most powerful being on Earth. Once again, her siblings corrupted her with their powers and she agreed so long as she herself didn’t have to kill them.
And guess what? Slade had hopped on the bandwagon, too. The more the merrier, I guess.
So Slade and Trigon decide to start this group to destroy the Teen Titans, promising fame and power to any who join their cause. This didn’t escape the attention of the Titans, though, and they decided to retaliate. They started their own group of superheroes. So now it’s the ultimate clash of good guys versus bad guys.
Who will win? Well, that’s up to the members to decide.
